Ok, if you havent read the blog from yesterday, scroll down and read it first. It will help explain this one....
So after going through the letters and finding some very, VERY random photos...I decided to track down someone known to us many, many, MANY years ago.
Here's the face I am referring to. This is really the only thing I remember about him.
I google his name, and the only thing I can find is this photo....on "www.coloradansfornebraska.com" website.
The caption refers to him as the one in the background. I totally think it could be him.
The weird thing, however, is that he lived in ILLIONIS.....how does he get from IL to Colorado. Surely it isnt him after all...that just doesnt make any sense.
Until I found my good friend intellus search - here's the screen shot.
TA DA! Same Cory...lived in Ill. and also in Colorado!!!!!
Unfortunately I cannot find him on facebook or myspace so the mystery of whatever happened to him still sort of remains.
Seriously, WHAT IS THE IRONY that I found him on HUSKER fan site.
I love you Amy.

Blast from the past
I credit this night partly to the upcoming reunion but mostly to Amy for digging out the old letters last week...
Tonight I sat in my daughters bedroom going through boxes and boxes that are stuffed in the back of her closet. I made a huge mess (she helped, some)....then I put her in her crib and I continued to make an even bigger mess. I swear that I dont think there is one thing I have EVER thrown away in my LIFE.
The oldest pile of letters were from when I was at girl scout camp in 1991. There are 3 from my mom (each one telling me that her friend Delores Peterson bought a house), 1 from Aunt Jody ( who also told me Delores Peterson bought a house, and also told me she was on her way to the fair but she probably just drove by) , and one from my Grandma Mamie (telling me that Aunt Jody was "silly"). What a treasure to find that letter from my grandma...Oh I miss her so much. I think of how much my mom loves Avery and I cant help but think about how I didnt have a clue back then what I really meant to my Grandma.
I have some good letters to share girls. Amy, the best one is from you. I dont know if the best part is that it is typed on easter egg stationary or the part you wrote about Chris Klaassen still being retarded. I cant wait for you to read it. H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S!!!!!!!
Oh, and I thought Jenny and I were the ones always fighting????? If so then how come every "note" I have saved from highschool is about me and Christi fighting and trying to forgive each other and not wanting to give up or friendship, etc. etc. etc.
How about the one from Sheldon when he says "I think Christi and I are going to make it!!" Poor guy, he didnt know his heart was about to be b-r-o-k-e-n.
Ok, I've spelled enough. More tomorrow.
PS The funniest part for me about tonight was the fact that I would laugh out loud at things, and there was Avery in her crib....everytime I would laugh she would just mock me and start giggling. She is so my kid.

I'm Baaaacccckkkkk

Well, it seems as though LIFE has gotten the best of me here lately and slowwwwwwed down my Blogging. I'm back though, and I will try to do better. I hate to disappoint my loyal readers. (Wait, what loyal readers? If you are a loyal reader reading this blog then COMMENT and tell me. ha.)
Anyway, last week Amy and her girls were in town. On Tuesday, Christi and Josiah came for a visit. It was so wonderful to all be together again, if only for a while. We left half of our kids at home on Tuesday night and went out for Chinese. Yum.
On Friday night, Amy and I traveled to Joplin and picked up Jenny then we had dinner at (where else?) CHEDDARS. We left ALL of our kids at home that night and it was a real treat. I cant believe we didnt take a picture.
Amy, it was so nice to have you here. I miss you, your parents miss you, your grandparents miss you...MOVE BACK. Ok thats all I will say about that.
Saturday was the big Gtown Easter Egg hunt. Avery had a pretty good time but it was cold...and she's still a little sick but getting better (i think).

Sunday we went to church. I did not take any pictures of her in her ADORABLE pink easter dress and matching bow. What is wrong with me?!!! But, I did take a few pictures of her hunting the eggs we colored at our house. Check out the one JoeDel put a face on. He is a dandy.

Hope you all had a WONDERFUL Easter. I never get tired of hearing the resurrection story. It breaks my heart every time, but the death on the cross leads to the RISEN SAVIOR and that, my friends, is the hope that gets me through each day.

back to normal
The Trojan glory days are now far behind us. The Trojans lost their championship game, but they really put up a good fight against Topeka Hayden (of course a private catholic school). It was a very fun weekend and I am still so proud of those boys and really the entire community for the support they showed by traveling to Salina to cheer on the Trojans!
This week has been crazy. JoeDel celebrated his 37th birthday on Tuesday. Avery stayed all night w/ Grammy and we headed to Oklahoma on a casino run. That was fun but we did not win money.
Yesterday I helped answer phones at KKOW for the St Jude radiothon. I am such a huge believer in St. Jude and I hope to go tour the facility one day. I pray everyday I never have to go there with my child, but yet it is so wonderful to know that if we were ever faced with a life crisis such as childhood cancer, there is a place like St. Jude.
Last night, I met with Amy Johnson to finalize some plans for our 10 year reunion. Things are coming along well. We even had a mini-reunion it seemed. While we were at Sundowners, James Lowman and Chucky Burns came in. Hopefully the turnout at the actual reunion will be a little better. ha.
TGIF, baby!

It's great to be a Trojan!
Oh boy is does it feel good today.
I'm writing from Salina, KS to share a story of true heart.
The Trojans were down the entire game. It did not look good and I kept thinking that I had to be proud of them for getting to the state tournament, not sad that they were going to get beat out of going to the championship game.
That all changed with about a minute left when SOMEHOW the Trojans cut Andover's lead to only two. That is a basket folks!!! Oh boy did I go crazy. I was jumping up and down and poor little Avery was crying.
The next few minutes were a huge blur. There were fouls, there were free throws shot. All of the sudden things were tied. There wasnt much time left, but we had the ball. Still a blur. Ball getting passed around, time winding down. I remember looking up and there were 5.something seconds. Still not shot in sight. Then, all of the sudden, from the outer ring....shot goes up (slow motion) BASKET IS IN!!!!!!!!!!!!! I look at the clock. 00.00 seconds. Oh gosh. I hope it was in in time. I am afraid to even look at the ref. Will he be saying "no shot" Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear........I look at mr. strips and I see him making the shot good sign.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Trojans were EXCITED!
I had to go down on the court to get Beth who stayed w/ us last night and ended up in the mix of the student body. THere were tears and hugs and more tears.
IT WAS A GREAT DAY TO BE A TROJAN!
And, we had a built in babysitter for when we got home to the motel so we went and celebrated with some fellow Girardians.
Good luck tonight boys! Bring us home a STATE TITLE!

2000 hits!!!
Wow, I can't beleive i just hit the 2000 mark on the counter. This calls for a celebration!
Anyway, I will update since the last post.
On Friday morning, Avery & I packed up and headed out. We made the drive to Bolivar, MO. Oh it was so much fun! It is really not very far over there, I dont know why I don't go more often.
Anyway, we stopped to visit Brandi Keeling at her house. So good to see her. Then, we headed to SBU where we hung out in the CoBaCS for awhile. It was so, so, so, SO good to see Susan Debauche. She is just like another mother to me and I feel so bad that I have lost touch like I have. She is getting ready to get MARRIED in just a couple of weeks and I am so beyond excited for her. I was also able to see Rhonda Credille and an old buddy, Tom Stevens, who is now a professor at SBU. Sure was weird to see him as a teacher but he seems to fit in well.
After we left SBU, we went to Springfield and had lunch with two other long lost friends that I miss so much...Jinger and April (and her two beautiful girls). It was so wonderful to see them! I didn't really know what to expect since it had been at least 5 years since I'd seen them....but it was kind of like it always was. Sure we are all so different now, yet we can visit and get along and it was just a wonderful, wonderful time.
We also went to the Carpet Barn for awhile (the sole purpose of my being in springfield on friday).
We then went to JOplin and had supper w/ Susan, Jeff and Emily...and then stopped by to see Jenny, Eric, Luke and Caleb! It was abusy, busy day but well worth all the fun.
Saturday we spent the day with Grammy. We had a wonderful day.
Sunday, Daddy came home from the lake and we watched Nascar!!!! We also went to visit the Jamesons again out at Mike and Gingers.
We are planning a trip to Salina this weekend if the Trojans can pull off the win on Thursday night!!!!
